The InvisibleShield Protects Your Gadgets 17th July, 2008
After spending the last several months testing the InvisibleShield from Zagg on my iPod and cell phone, I have to say that it’s a lot of fun to try to stab it with a fork and see that there’s absolutely NO damage to the device at all. I’ve since purchased many more InvislbleShields (protection for a new phone, my digital camera LCD, etc.) and the investments have been great. It really is military grade protection.
This is the box.
Inside is a special applicator liquid and a squeegee for excess liquid. It’s recommended that you are liberal at applying the liquid — it’s okay if there are bubbles that are made from the liquid, as you’ll be able to push it out with the squeegee. Don’t make it too dry or else it will look like your gadget has acne. (I do, unfortunately, speak from experience.)
Once the shield is securely fixed to your gadget, let it dry but be sure to use the squeegee to remove excess liquid. The air bumps will usually work themselves out as long as you were liberal in your liquid application.
Eventually, you’ll have a really interesting and protected device. You can try to stab it with a fork and a knife and nothing will happen. You can get your dog to scratch it and even try to get your keys to attack, but it won’t cause damage to the device.
Here’s a YouTube video of it being applied to the iPhone:
Here’s a stress test:
And after that, as you can tell, your device really can’t get more secure. The shield itself doesn’t interfere with other protection like iPod Shades (or my personal favorite, the Griffin Reflect iPod Case), so if you want added protection, go with both!
