Meetup is a web service that lets you find local area meetups or to create one yourself. There are thousands of networking opportunities for those interested in getting to know local people in just about any topic.

Meetup also has maintained its presence at a variety of trade shows (cmon, why wouldn’t Meetup attend a local meetup?) and at one of those, I found myself the owner of a brand new Meetup pin:
