Stickers!

Friday, October 31st, 2008

I like stickers. When I was little, I had a collection. Now that stickers are associated with all my favorite web 2.0 products, it’s even better!

Here is a sampling of some of the stickers I’ve been finding at events (most notably, SXSW):

Creative Commons:

My favorite sticker: the social network VOIS.com stickers that let you meet others — which is opportune for a meet ‘n greet (there were plenty of those at South by Southwest!)

Lijit, a search engine for publishers. Lijit’s search powers this blog. Try it now!

Social Media Club, a community of people who love social media:

I Heart Cavemen party stickers:

bub.blicio.us, the site of my pal Brian Solis:

(The better quality sticker is on my laptop.)

Video search engine Blinkx:

SmartLinks by Adaptive Blue:

open.aim.com:

dev.aim.com:

dev.aol.com:

Linux Journal:

Seesmic, a video sharing community:

ustream.tv, a place to live-stream your events:

YouTube:

Mobile blogging site Utterz:

(More schwag from Utterz includes a stuffed cow and a wristband.)

Yahoo Interface Library:

Myxer.com for free ringtones and more:

Etelos online web application marketplace:

(Their tagline: You build the app – we take care of the crap)

Startup Weekend (an event that I know isn’t local/NY):

CenterNetworks, a blog on web 2.0 stuff.

kyte.tv, a video and photo sharing site:

Titty Bingo:

Upcoming, the social events site:

Sosauce, a life documentary site:

Operation Mom, a social network for mothers:

FailWhale T-Shirt

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Tim Limongello is a clever dude. Several months ago, when microblogging platform Twitter failed all the time, he came up with the concept of the Fail Whale — Twitter’s “unavailable” page had a whale being carried by birds (I never understood that) — and he made sure you saw it even if you didn’t use Twitter.

So is it really a surprise that the Fail Whale phenomenon had its own shirt?

Speaking of which, while Twitter has gotten more stable lately, I’m still running into issues — so this shirt is definitely not still outdated. That said, get your own t-shirt here.

You can follow me on Twitter if you wish.

eVisibility Water Bottle

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

A few months ago, I posted photos of a bunch of water bottles that I’ve received in the past. Internet marketing firm eVisibility has reminded us how important it is to stay hydrated with this cool water bottle:

eVisibility has done more clever schwag in the past — for the SEOs out there, you would appreciate their awesome nofollow t-shirt.

Are YOU Going to Vote?

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Next week, Americans get to choose our next president. Hopefully, you’ve resolved to vote. WE Vote 08 is a site that empowers individuals with the tools and know how to make your decision. I hope you’re getting ready to hit the polls next Tuesday.

At a recent TechSet event (that is, a technology meet-up of entrepreneurs and innovators) in NYC, my friend Stephanie Agresta let it be known that she’s ready to vote with these pins:
