Shades for iPod

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

If you wanted protection for your iPod, look no further than Shades for iPod. This isn’t quite a case — they call it a shade. It’s a durable film protector for any sized iPod, but since I had a Nano without protection, I opted for that.

I expected one color, but there’s a whole collection of colors to suit the mood:

And here is the clear one on the Nano. Can you see it? Probably not! Again, it’s a shade — not a case. 🙂 However, it is noticeable up close — though from far away, it looks just like any iPod Nano (unless you get one of those funky colors going on).

Application was easy and it looks like solid protection. You get full control over the scroll bar with the shade covering it.

Hot Google Pen

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Ty Downing from Red VW Bus and Perspective Internet Marketing from North Carolina sent me a really nice piece of schwag that I didn’t get at SMX West. I guess you can’t be everywhere at once. My goal is to capture every piece of Google schwag that’s available though (are you listening?) 😉 (You too, John!)

The cool part about this is that it’s a rocket pen — when the lights are off and you turn the pen on, you get a cool red light.

And in the off position, it just looks super sweet.

Thanks, Ty, for this nice little present, and for the amazing followup. You’re too kind, and I really appreciate it!

Let’s talk about being practical for awhile longer. Check out these awesome Atlas aQuantive (Microsoft) moleskin notebooks:

Sweet stuff. Thanks to Avi Wilensky for getting them for me.

Arty Crooks Schwag

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Arty Crooks is a designer and a cool one at that. A nice guy named Jason who represents them sent me and my husband a scarf and T-shirt, respectively, from the Arty Crooks store.

This was the packaging (which was enclosed in a Fedex envelope). Don’t you think that’s cool?

My husband, Brian, is madly in love with anything transit. Specifically, he likes trains. He has a huge website with over 15,000 subway photographs (and bus photos too) and he was happy to see this cool bus routes t-shirt.

I gots me a scarf that looks like this:

Very cool. Thanks Jason for the sweet stuff.
