gdgt geek

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

I’m a computer nerd, and I have about 5TB of storage across all computers I use (more than 3). I’m also a gadget geek. So I was very excited when gdgt, a site all about gadgets (you all should join!), was launched in July.

I also got some stickers that I was able to have posing with some of the hard drives. In case you’re wondering, there’s a USB hub there, a router, the Addonics IDE to USB hard drive enclosure (4 IDE hard drives are stored within), my cable modem, and two OneTouch USB hard drives by Maxtor.

Microsoft Presenter Mouse

Jeremiah at the Microsoft Live Search Webmaster Central team showed me some nifty Microsoft technology with this super cool Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000.

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse

Since I love gadgets and tech stuff, I decided to change the tune of Schwag Addict to turn this into a gadget review. Bear with me as this is new territory, but this should be fun for all of us. 😉

The Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 combines a powerful Microsoft mouse with a laser pointer which makes the name “Presenter Mouse” quite appropriate. The mouse comes complete with a scroll wheel, media remote (for presentations), a 2.4 GHz bluetooth connector, and a battery indicator to inform you if your battery is running low.

To get started, simply plug in the connector to your computer and you’re ready to roll. Using the mouse, you can control computers at up to 30 feet away. The presenter mouse takes two AAA alkaline batteries and comes in a hard plastic case for ease of travel. It measures 3.68 inches long and 2.22 inches wide.

The presenter mouse is a sweet deal at $79.95 (MSRP), though you can find it cheaper if you search. From all the “portable mice” I’ve seen, this looks to be one of the more promising keepers.
