StartupSchwag Bag #8: lijit, Amazee, BookGlutton, Pixish, ReturnMoi, SocialBomb, Shoutlet, Lazygirls, and Zambino

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Last month, my favorite schwag service Startup Schwag had a great grab bag filled with high quality goodies and fun.

The shirt refers to social search service lijit. The stickers are from Amazee, a social collaboration platform, Book Glutton, a social book discussion website, Shoutlet, a web 2.0 marketplace, Zambino, a video advertising platform, and Lazygirls.info, a celebrity resource site. There was also a cool deal for ReturnMoi which aims to recover lost items to their rightful owners and a pin for Pixish, an online social image site.

I know how many people have claimed that they wish they got schwag, and Startup Schwag is really one of the best ways to get high quality stuff on a recurring basis. I can’t recommend Startup Schwag enough. It’s $14.95/month, but you get all this (and sometimes even more; no, I did not get that awesome Ubuntu shirt!)

i can haz cool pinz

If you like LOLcats, you’ll love icanhascheezburger. Run by my two friends, Eric Nakagawa and Ben Huh, this site is one of the most popular sites on the internetz due to the user-generated content and hilarious pictures. The idea behind ICHC is to caption your cat photos. And wow, they’re hilariously funny. Ben tells me that they actually post about 1% of all cat photo submissions. Crazy!

In any event, ICHC has a bunch of cool schwag, including t-shirts and pins. The pins rock. Take a look.

The T-shirts need to be found, and once they are, I’ll revisit ICHC on a schwag addict blog post again. 🙂

Sage Rock Pins

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Web marketing firm Sage Rock had a really creative campaign going on at SES New York in March. They offered a collection of pins which are shown below:

The pins display the following text. Apologies for the flash that interfered with some of these pictures:

  • I love internets
  • RSS
  • My SEO Can Beat Up Your SEO
  • My name is URL
  • This is link bait
  • Not pictured: a black pin that says </badseo> (the pin seemed to have sneaked away, but I finally found the bugger)

(Update: Here’s the last pin!)

Nice idea, guys. These pins are really cool.

Meetup Schwag

Meetup is an awesome site that allows you to schedule and organize local events. I’ve attended tons of events organized on the site and have no complaints. Thanks to my friend Jonathan Dingman, Matt and Adaam at Meetup sent this cool shirt, stickers, and sweet pins.
